North Carolina State Fairgrounds Master Plan, Raleigh, NC
SEPI was part of the Design Team along with OBS Landscape architects, led by HH Architecture in the 20-year Master Plan Development of the existing North Carolina State Fairgrounds. The master planning included an evaluation of the current facilities and a long range development plan for an expanded fairground for additional facilities and programs. In support of the master planning, SEPI's Site/Civil department prepared a master site utility plan from existing data that was field verified. Using this utility plan existing problem areas, as well as potential water, sewer or storm drainage problems, were identified and recommendation for remediation or improvements made. As various alternative plans for future improvements were developed for the fairgrounds, the impact on the existing systems was assessed as well as the requirements for expansions of the various systems in support of the alternative development plans. The evaluation of the alternative upgrades included feasibility, cost, and time.
