The Wetland/Stream Mitigation Group at SEPI has
experience in wetland and stream mitigation procedures from preliminary
site searches and landowner coordination to construction management
and monitoring. The Group's wetland experience includes wetland
delineations; hydric soil identification, hydric vegetation identification,
and hydrology/ground water monitoring; installing and monitoring
ground water gauges; wetland reference reach searches; and using
GPS to locate wetland boundaries. The Group's stream experience
includes: site identification; landowner contact and agency coordination;
feasibility studies, mitigation plans, and design plans. The Group
is also experienced in using total stationing survey techniques
and differential leveling for surveying stream channels and the
surrounding topography. The Group has experience and training
in calculating dimensionless ratio using Natural Channel Design
principles for existing site conditions, reference reaches, and
proposed designs. Technical expertise within the group is also
used in handling and coordinating constraint issues in urban environments
and working with farmers to ensure farm operations continue in
a cost effective manner while ensuring that the stream mitigation
project meets the expected goals. Bid package preparation and
construction management are handled by experienced on-site construction
staff. The Group also has extensive experience in monitoring stream,
wetland, and buffer mitigation sites.
